DISCIPLE 2 SERVE

– opportunities abound as disciples of Jesus – 

 

D2S - Disciple 2 Serve Ministry : become a part of a ministry team by filling out a Servant Volunteer Form

  • CARE Team Coordinator Kelly Burke  - commit to be on call one week per month to provide or deliver meals

 

  • HELPS Team Coordinator Dottie Ziegler – commit to be on call one week per month according for either housing, transportation, visitation

 

  • COUNSELING Team Coordinator Sarah Cadwell – commit to one week per month for crisis calls, or ongoing discipling/counseling training available, or forms available if want counseling

 

  • FREE CYCLE FELLOWSHIP – an opportunity two times per year to give away or trade “stuff” you no longer want or need

 

 

Classes or workshops available (possible IABC certification available):

 

  • Ongoing classes begin every year, meet at 7:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel first Monday after Labor Day, and continue through the school year

 

Note the NEW FORMAT as of 2008:

  • 6:00-6:50 p.m. Counselor Training classes using BCF Handbook, modification of Tracks II & III, with small group role plays 8:10-9:00 p.m.
  • 7:00-8:00 New 13 week, one-hour classes, utilizing the Self-Confrontation Manual  from the Biblical Counseling Foundation. (See bcfministries.org.)
  • Small groups 8:10-9:00 p.m. to discuss material covered the prior week, how to apply it to your life, homework, and memory verses.
  • January through May Workshops tentative topics available:
    • Depression (and possibly Suicide Crisis)
    • Fear, Worry, Anxiety
    •  Marriage Relationship Issues
    •  Parent-Child Relationship Issues – counseling children

Abuse Types or Life Dominating sins, such as:  

    • Substance Abuse (Pharmakia)
    • Alcohol Abuse
    • Verbal/Physical Abuse
    • Pornography
    • Homosexuality
    • Gluttony
    • Gambling
    • Christian Mediation (Peacemakers)
    • Bipolar
